1997/07/16: デジカメ勝負

we made a comparison picts for the following cameras: (1) Ricoh DC-3, and (2) Fuji DS-20.

To create thumbnail image, we used netpbm package and "convert more" menu in GraphicConverter 2.9beta. Full-sized jpeg files are obtained by copying directly from the memory card, or PCMCIA harddisk. We performed no resize nor retouch, basically. It is no use to compare thumbnail pictures. Compare the full-sized images that appear by clicking thumbnails.

Most of DC-3 picts are taken with "economy" mode, which compress 640x480 image into 40Kbytes. There are jpeg noise visible, due to the high compression ratio. Picts taken with Fine mode do not have that kind of noise.
For DS-20 images are taken with "normal" mode.

デジタルカメラ徹底比較ということで、 Ricoh DC-3とFuji DS-20 を勝負させてみることにしました。

サムネイル作成のためには、GraphicConverterの"convert more"メニュー、およびnetpbm/IJG jpeg packageを使いました。フルサイズのjpegファイルは、全てメモリカード経由で取り出ました。リサイズやレタッチは基本的に一切加えていません。 thumbnail比較してもしょうがないので、是非サムネイルをつついてフルサイズ画像を見てください。

DC-3の画像のほとんどはエコノミーモードで撮影されてます。高圧縮率のせいで、一部の画像でjpeg圧縮ノイズが見えます。ファインモードで撮影したものはあまりノイズがありません。
DS-20の画像はノーマルモードで撮影されています。
