1997/05/21: デジカメ勝負

We made a comparison picts for the following four cameras: (1) Minolta Dimage V, (2) Hitachi MP-EG1, and (3) Ricoh DC-2E. (4) NEC PC-DC200 "Picona"

To create thumbnail image, we used "convert more" menu in GraphicConverter 2.9beta. Full-sized jpeg files are obtained by copying directly from the memory card, or PCMCIA harddisk. We performed no resize nor retouch, basically. Special cases:

For DC-2E, we converted j6i file into jpeg file with 768x576 pixels.
For Hitachi MP-EG1, due to no-conversion nature, full-sized images have strange aspect ratio, 704x480. To view in natural-to-human aspect ratio, you should convert the image into width:height=4:3, say 640x480.
For Hitachi MP-EG1, picts with thin surrounding frame were taken by using Kenko MC Close-up No.3. (close up lens)

It is no use to compare thumbnail pictures. Compare the full-sized images that appear by clicking thumbnails.

今回も前回に引続き、デジタルカメラ徹底比較ということで、 Minolta Dimage V、Hitachi MP-EG1、Ricoh DC-2E、 NEC PC-DC200 "Picona" を勝負させてみることにしました。

サムネイル作成のためには、GraphicConverterの"convert more"メニュー、およびnetpbm/IJG jpeg packageを使いました。フルサイズのjpegファイルは、全てメモリカード経由で取り出ました。リサイズやレタッチは基本的に一切加えていません。特例は以下のとおり:

DC-2Eについてはj6iからjpegへのファイル変換を行っています。
MP-EG1のフルサイズ画像はカメラから吸い上げたそのまま、704x480になってます。人間がみてまともと思う縦横比にするには640x480にする必要があります。
MP-EG1について、枠が細いものは、Kenko MC Close-up No.3 (クローズアップレンズ)を併用して撮影したものです。

thumbnail比較してもしょうがないので、是非サムネイルをつついてフルサイズ画像を見てください。
